Singtel and leading telecom and tech firms have signed a contract with NEC Corporation to build the Asia United Gateway East (AUG East) submarine cable system. Spanning 8,900 km, it will connect Singapore, Japan, and six other countries. The high-capacity cable is expected to be completed by Q3 2029.
