MI head coach Mahela Jayawardena said the decision to use Rohit Sharma as an 'impact sub' wasn't planned beforehand and it was taken to include more players who could bowl and be quick in the field. "Rohit was also nursing a niggle from Champions Trophy 2025, so we wanted to make sure we [didn't] push him too hard," he added.
