CDS General Anil Chauhan claimed ex-PM Jawaharlal Nehru recognised Tibet as part of China under 1954’s Panchsheel Agreement to build good relationship with Beijing. “With this, India assumed that it had settled its border,” he said. “But Chinese stand was that this agreement was negotiated only for trade, and it didn't reflect Chinese stand on the border,” General Chauhan added.
