Former Indian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Phunchok Stobdan said the protests that erupted in Ladakh last week and in Nepal earlier may have been stoked by those who do not want improved India-China relationship. They may be an "outcome of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting China (for SCO Summit) and shaking hands with Chinese President Xi Jinping", said Stobdan.
