Nepal's Bagmati River overflows amid heavy rain, low-lying areas put on alert

Heavy rains in Nepal have caused the Bagmati River to overflow in Kathmandu, triggering high alert in low-lying and riverside areas. Moreover, landslides have reportedly blocked key highways linking Kathmandu with other parts of Nepal. Heavy rainfall is expected in several parts of the country till Sunday. In August, over 1,400 people died due to flash floods in the country.
