Netflix has ended its DVD mailing service after 25 years. Calling it the "end of an era", Netflix said it shipped the last DVD on September 29 morning. The company was started by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph in 1998 as a DVD mail subscription service. The first Netflix DVD was mailed out of an old bank building, Randolph said.
