New bent-toed gecko species discovered in Assam

A new gecko species, Cyrtodactylus raimonaensis, has been discovered near Raimona National Park in Assam's Kokrajhar district. Known as the Raimona bent-toed gecko, this small lizard is named after the park. "We'll continue to protect these habitats and support scientific research, ensuring Assam's natural heritage is preserved...for generations to come," said Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma.
