New COVID-19 strains NB.1.8.1 and LF.7 have been detected in India, PTI reported, citing data from central government's INSACOG. World Health Organization (WHO) has classified the two variants- descendants of the JN.1 coronavirus variant- as Variants Under Monitoring. One case of NB.1.8.1 and four cases of LF.7 have been detected in India, while JN.1 is the most common variant here.
