A new COVID-19 variant, known as NB.1.8.1, has been detected in multiple foreign travellers arriving at US airports, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Positive cases were reported at airports in California, Washington state, Virginia, and around New York City. As per reports, the travellers had recently visited countries including Japan, South Korea, France and China.
