New DBS technique may make Parkinson’s treatment safer

A Jaslok Hospital study has found a reliable method to improve the accuracy of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) electrode positioning for Parkinson's and movement disorders. The research, involving 35 patients, showed that rotational fluoroscopy can accurately determine electrode orientation, helping doctors personalise DBS programming.
