New error correction architecture for quantum computing
short by Editor InceptiveMind / on Tuesday, 23 January, 2024
Alice & Bob researchers and Inria have developed a new quantum error correction architecture that relies on low-density parity-check codes on cat qubits. This innovation significantly reduces hardware requirements for useful quantum computers, which could enable the operation of 100 high-fidelity logical qubits with as few as 1,500 physical cat qubits and an error rate of 10-8.
