New FDA-approved cholesterol pill lowers bad LDL

The FDA has approved Lipfendra, the world's first oral PCSK9 inhibitor, offering a once-daily alternative to cholesterol-lowering injections. Clinical trials showed it reduced LDL ("bad") cholesterol by up to 59% in high-risk adults. While not replacing statins, it offers new hope for patients with difficult-to-control cholesterol and may eventually become available in India.
