New golden beetle discovered in Kerala

Researchers discovered a new darkling beetle species, Steneucyrtus wayanadensis, in the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary of Kerala. Collected using nocturnal light traps, this fascinating insect exhibits a beautiful golden-green metallic iridescence and flat front wings. The team also rediscovered Steneucyrtus pexicollis, a related beetle that was last documented in India in 1896.
