New green mineral found in rock mined 220 years ago

A sample of rock that was collected from a mine in Cornwall around 220 years ago has turned out to be an entirely new species of mineral. It was catalogued as something else and kept in London's Natural History Museum (NHM) since 1964. The dark green mineral has been named 'Kernowite' after Kernow, the Cornish language word for Cornwall.
