New insect species mimics leaves for camouflage

UK-based researchers have examined a newly-discovered species of bushcricket named 'Typophyllum spurioculis'. The insect which mimics dead leaves for camouflage in South American rain forest was photographed by an undergraduate student Andrew Baker. Researchers found the entire wing resonates at the frequency of the male insect's call, which is audible to the human ear as well.
