New iridescent burrowing snake species discovered in Mizoram

Researchers from Mizoram University and the Max Planck Institute have discovered a new burrowing snake species near Murlen National Park in Mizoram. Spotted late at night on a muddy road, Trachischium lalremsangai is a small, non-venomous reptile with a shiny, iridescent brown back and a cream-and-brown speckled belly.
