New legless lizard species discovery in Taiwan solves 100-yr-old mystery

Scientists led by Si-Min Lin of National Taiwan Normal University have confirmed the discovery of a new legless lizard species in Taiwan, named Dopasia formosensis, ending over a century of confusion due to its snake-like appearance. Its small ear openings and movable eyelids confirm it is a lizard, while its long tail helps it move through dense forest floors.
