Scientists have developed a new lithium-sulfur battery with a capacity five times higher than that of lithium-ion batteries. Researchers state the battery maintains an efficiency of 99% for more than 200 cycles, which for a smartphone-sized battery would result in keeping a phone charged for five days. Researchers fabricated four types of thick sulfur cathodes to use in the prototypes.
