New MRI scan detects MS without lumbar puncture

Scientists at the University of Nottingham developed an MRI scan that detects multiple sclerosis without a lumbar puncture. The scan identifies a 'central vein sign' in brain lesions, distinguishing MS from other conditions. Dr. Chris Gilmartin says it is faster and less stressful. The technology is set to roll out across the UK.
