New nasal drops noninvasively eliminate brain tumours in mice

US researchers have created a noninvasive strategy to treat glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer. Using gold-core spherical nucleic acids to activate the STING immune pathway, the therapy successfully reached the brain without surgery. The treatment eradicated tumours in mice and produced long-lasting immune protection when combined with drugs that boost T-cell activity.
