New rule allows deportation if H-1B visa extension rejected

Many H-1B holders could face deportation if application for extension or change of status is rejected and their tenure of stay granted by US government has expired, according to a new USCIS policy. It empowers USCIS to issue "Notice to Appear" order for a person whose application has been denied. Earlier, notices for deportation proceedings were restricted to criminal cases.
