TRAI has announced a new rule effective from July 1, impacting users planning to port their mobile numbers. According to the Mobile Number Portability rule, users who have replaced or purchased a new SIM card within the last seven days cannot port their numbers. TRAI has imposed this new rule to stop fraudulent SIM swap practices.
