Scientists have described a new snakehead fish species, Channa bhoi, from a hill stream in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district. Published in Ichthyology & Herpetology, the species is endemic to the area and named in honour of the indigenous Bhoi community, highlighting the region’s rich but fragile freshwater biodiversity.
