A new species of owl has been discovered in Príncipe, an island on the African west coast. The bird, called the Principe Scops-Owl, was first located by scientists in 2016, but suspicions of its existence started back in 1998. The bird has unique call of a short "tuu" note that repeats at a rate of about one note per second.
