A new study in eClinicalMedicine shows that fat buildup in the pancreas called intrapancreatic fat is tied to obesity, insulin resistance, high blood pressure, and low HDL cholesterol in kids and teens. Even normal-weight children may be affected. The findings stress the importance of early lifestyle changes to lower long-term risks of diabetes and heart disease.
