New study shows plant based diets cut diabetes risk

A new study published in PLOS Medicine found that people who eat more healthy plant foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and legumes have a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes. However, plant-based diets high in refined grains, sugary drinks, and sweets were linked to a higher diabetes risk.
