Discovered beneath a fallen Sal tree log during expeditions in West Bengal's Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary, Pseudocapritermes novus is India's newest termite species. Found by researchers from ZSI, University of Calcutta, and CMS College, this soil-dwelling insect was identified by its unique mouth features and body armour.
