New tongue pacemaker a game-changer for sleep apnea: Study

A new study suggests that a hypoglossal nerve stimulation "tongue pacemaker" may help people with obstructive sleep apnea who cannot tolerate Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machines. Researchers found the implant was associated with significantly lower risks of developing diabetes and high blood pressure after two years, offering a promising alternative treatment for eligible patients.
