Researchers at the University of California, San Diego have developed a prototype smart ring that continuously monitors biomarkers in finger sweat, including glucose, ketones, vitamin C, uric acid, lactate and alcohol. The ring does not require exercise to detect biomarkers. It draws sweat passively using an osmotic hydrogel and sweat is analysed by an electrochemical sensor array within ring.
