New Zealand won't impose lockdowns to combat Omicron: PM Ardern

New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern on Thursday said that government will tighten curbs when Omicron COVID-19 variant cases rise but won't resort to lockdowns. New Zealand will move to “red” setting within 24-48 hours of Omicron being detected in community. The setting will allow businesses to function, domestic travel to continue but require schoolchildren to wear masks, PM Ardern said.
