NGT gives CPCB 8 weeks to report microplastics protocol progress

The National Green Tribunal has granted CPCB eight weeks to submit a progress report on developing uniform national methodologies for microplastics detection across water, soil, air, sludge and biota. CIPET, NCSCM and CSIR-NEERI will develop matrix-specific methods. The case, arising from microplastics found in Indian salt, sugar and human blood, is next listed for February 4, 2027.
