Niacin shows promise in treating fatty liver disease, study finds

Researchers discovered that microRNA-93 drives fatty liver disease and found that vitamin B3 (niacin) can effectively suppress it. In mice, niacin reduced liver fat and improved metabolism by activating SIRT1. Already FDA-approved and considered safe, niacin could be repurposed to treat millions with MASLD worldwide, offering a potential breakthrough in fatty liver therapy.
