World number 25 Nick Kyrgios smashed and broke two racquets after crashing out of the US Open 2022 in the quarter-finals. Kyrgios lost the quarter-final to Russia's Karen Khachanov 5-7, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6(7-3), 4-6. Kyrgios was also seen throwing a drinks bottle on the court during the match. After the match, Kyrgios stated that he was "devastated".
