Nihal, Humpy win individual golds at European Chess Club Cup 2026

Indian Grandmasters Nihal Sarin and Koneru Humpy won individual gold medals in the open and women's categories, respectively, at the European Chess Club Cup 2026 in Montenegro. Playing on Board 2 for Novy Bor Chess Club, Nihal scored five points from six games, with four wins and two draws. Humpy scored 4.5 points from six games in the seven-round tournament.
