Nissan CEO Hiroto Saikawa will step down on September 16 and will temporarily be replaced by COO Yasuhiro Yamauchi, the Japanese automaker's board announced on Monday. This comes after Saikawa admitted to an internal probe's findings that he and other executives were overpaid in a stock-related payment program but has denied wrongdoing. He had reportedly received $440,000 in excess compensation.
