Manjhi said that he acted as per Nitish's advice but was called a "rubber stamp". "So, I started asserting myself. This made Nitish suspicious, and he decided to have me overthrown," he alleged.

US President Donald Trump-led administration has raised tariffs on Chinese goods to 104%, White House said. The new tariffs will be effective from April 9. The reported move comes after Trump on Monday threatened to impose additional tariffs on Chinese imports if the Asian country didn't withdraw its 34% retaliatory tariffs.

WHO chief Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that the next pandemic is inevitable. "It could happen in 20 years or more, or it could happen tomorrow. Congress leader P Chidambaram was rushed to hospital after he fainted at the Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat on Tuesday. The 75-year-old former Finance Minister was attending an event at the ashram when he fell unconscious reportedly due to heat exhaustion. A video has also surfaced showing party workers carrying him to an ambulance.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs on Tuesday announced that the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025 has come into force. "The Central Government...appoints the 8th day of April, 2025 as the date on which the provisions of the said Act shall come into force," the notification read. The Act received President Droupadi Murmu's assent on Saturday.
