Union Minister Suresh Gopi has informed the Rajya Sabha that the government has not carried out any assessment regarding the number of vehicles in India that are fully compatible with E20 (20% ethanol, 80% petrol) fuel. However, he added, "Manufacturer service data confirm that there is no abnormal corrosion, wear or reduction in vehicle life due to E20 fuel."
