The Himachal Pradesh government has suspended the guard of honour for dignitaries till September 15, with Independence Day as the only exception, CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said in a statement. CM Sukhu asked the police to focus their efforts solely to flood-affected people. Heavy rains, landslides and flash floods have damaged roads and other infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.
