Speaking on the Waqf Amendment Bill in Lok Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "No land can be made Waqf property by mere declaration." Shah said that several properties, including land belonging to temples and other religions, were given to Waqf. Adding to that, he said, "You cannot donate someone else's property. You donate something which is yours."
