Responding to why liquor sales were being allowed in Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that people are not forced to consume alcohol and they can have it if their faith permits. Stating that his "religion does not grant" such permission, CM Omar added that the state government has not opened any new liquor shops in the state.
