The central government clarified in Parliament that there is no plan to increase urea prices. The reduction in urea bag size from 50 kg to 45 kg or 40 kg aims to curb overuse, promote balanced fertiliser application, and improve soil health, encouraging farmers to use nutrients more efficiently.
