A message is now viral falsely claiming that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has set a deadline to exchange old 100-rupee notes by March 2024, after invalidating the old notes. However, this claim is false. RBI spokesperson Yogesh Dayal told BOOM that no such directive was issued. The RBI had introduced a new 100-rupee note in 2018.
