According to a new parliamentary committee report, no river in England is free from pollution and can be given a clear bill on health. The report by Environmental Audit Committee (EAC) stated many English rivers contain a "chemical cocktail" of pollution, including sewage as well as agricultural waste and single-use plastic that pose serious health risks to people and wildlife.
