No SMS on train cancellation, woman wins ₹15,000 compensation

A Chhattisgarh consumer commission has ordered Indian Railways to pay around ₹15,000 in compensation to a woman who missed her Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express after discovering its route had changed due to a fire near Itarsi. The passenger had booked a third-AC ticket for ₹1,980 in 2016 but received no advance notice. She cancelled her ticket and obtained a full refund.
