Talking about wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan not getting BCCI annual contract, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar said, "Nobody still knows why Kishan has not turned up for Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy." Kishan was asked by the team management to play domestic cricket, however, he didn't feature in any of Ranji matches. Ishan last played a professional match in November 2023.
