North and South Korea exchanged warning shots off the western coast of the Korean Peninsula on Monday. Seoul said its forces fired warning shots to repel a North Korean merchant vessel that had breached the Northern Limit Line (NLL), the de facto sea boundary between the two countries. Meanwhile, Pyongyang accused a South Korean naval ship of violating the NLL.
