Starting May 1, prospective parents going for adoption would not be allowed to "pick and choose" but would only be given one option by the national adoption body. Till now, the government's adoption portal, CARINGS, referred up to three children to the prospective parents to choose from. Notably, adoption applicants can participate in only three rounds of referrals.
