A nude portrait by Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani has fetched $157.2 million (over ₹1,000 crore), the fourth highest price for any work of art at an auction. The 1917 oil painting carried a pre-sale estimate of about $150 million, making it the highest-estimated work of art in auction history. The artwork's owner bought it for over ₹182 crore in 2003.
