Plant-based diet may help lower chronic constipation's risk: Study

Researchers found that a plant-based or Mediterranean diet can help prevent the development of chronic constipation in middle- and older-age adults, according to a study published in Gastroenterology. The study, which is based on more than 90,000 people, found that participants who followed a Western or inflammatory diet were more likely to develop chronic constipation.
