New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced a one-year ban on student use of generative AI in schools until the eighth grade, while high school students will have limited access. "The tech industry wants us to believe that AI-powered early education is not only inevitable, but necessary...[but] Children need teachers and human connection to learn and grow," Mamdani said.
